Do you think we’re shaped more by our experiences or by who we are?
Both in equal measure. Thus the great debate about nature or nurture.
I might be in love with life. Nature and nurture.
Sometimes I’d like to think who I am and will become is natural. I also can’t deny that my upbringing plays a vital role in how I think, behave, and experience life.
Today, I spent time editing my life and stories here on Birdanity. I’ve learned to reframe, curate, and hone a memory that is filled with a lot of love and humor.
Especially about naturally bra-less days, selling farts, and the ongoing search for an Idaho Sasquatch. It’s oddly wonderful.
On the flip side, I have been removing stories of trauma and drama. Moments of healthy expression at the time, yet also not stories I wish to carry anymore.
Daring to date helps somehow. Defining healthy boundaries, adjusting expectations, and simply letting humanity be as it is are a remarkable feat of learning.
Sometimes I even let AI do some of the heavy lifting. He, She or They point out rainbow-colored flags I might have missed. No one is keeping score.
We live in an incredible age of access to knowledge. Debate no longer has to live here. No political agenda, crisis, or unnecessary drama.
It’s like sleeping on silk where the only thing to worry is, perhaps, Sasquatch, farting in yoga class, and sliding out of bed.
The nightmares have ended. Thoughts are decreasing with both time and a mindfulness practice.
My dreams are alive and well. My health is both good and also improving.
My family and friends are many and close to my heart and head. I feel love and appreciation.
There is no end when beginning again (tomorrow?) is who I am and also the task at hand.
Until tomorrow,
be well?
I hope.
